The picnic is a great way to get to know your fellow beekeepers and a great opportunity to talk bees for a few hours. Bring some honey for tasting!
The Annual Club Picnic will be held at Myers Point on Sunday, July 17. Myers Point is located on Cayuga Lake 10 miles north of Ithaca off Highway 34B. Pavilion E has been rented for the day and the meal is being planned for 12:30. There is a $3 parking fee that people should plan for. The Club will provide some beverages and basic foods for grilling. People are encouraged to bring their own dishes and utensils, a dish to pass and beverages to share. Naturally, honey-based foods and beverages are encouraged. Beer and wine are OK to have in the park, especially mead.
The park has a swimming beach, volleyball courts, basketball court, boat launch, horseshoes and a playground. The event is open to all members, families, friends and neighbors who are interested in our friend the honey bee.
No RSVP necessary–just show up!
